Living Well with Dementia

Living Well with Dementia compromises of 4 pilot projects, supported by Genio Trust. They aim to develop new services and supports for people affected by dementia. These projects, representing 4 different geographical locations, are identifying, mobilising and developing community-based supports with the aim of enabling people with dementia to remain at home living full lives.

Huntington's Disease Northern Ireland 

The Huntington’s Disease Association Northern Ireland (HDANI) was originally set up in 1976 by a group of family members who, in the absence of other accessible resources, desperately needed to provide some peer advice and mutual support for other families in Northern Ireland living with HD.

The Neurofibromatosis Association of Ireland delivers essential services to families affected by Neurofibromatosis. Currently their main focus is on the development of services at the Neurofibromatosis clinic at Our Lady's Hospital. They also provide a free counselling service which can make a real difference to those diagnosed with this genetic condition.

The Parkinson's Association of Ireland is a charity, based in Dublin with branches throughout the country. Move4Parkinson

Move4Parkinson’s was founded by Margaret Mullarney who was diagnosed with Parkinson’s. Margaret discovered there is a huge range of activities that people with Parkinson’s (PWP’s) can undertake to improve their quality of life. Their services work to improve PWPs’ understanding of their illness, improve active self-management, and reduce symptoms. They also aim to serve the families and carers of PWP's to build a supportive community for everyone affected by Parkinson’s.
